Research Collaboration Fund Awards 2022

The UGPN is pleased to announce the Research Collaboration Fund (RCF) awards for 2022.

The University Global Partnership Network (UGPN) awarded seven new research projects as part of the eleventh round of research funding for international collaborations across the consortium.

The Research Collaboration Fund (RCF) is a joint initiative in which all four UGPN Partners participate, with an annual call for proposals tackling issues of global importance. This year’s RCF call welcomed research proposals in all subject areas.

One quadrilateral, four trilateral and three bilateral projects were awarded funding bringing together researchers working on topics including blue carbon, tackling inequalities in cancer care, water and sanitation, sustainable materials, AI and Machine Learning for health, and digital health solutions.  Check out the research section of our website for a selection of previous project outcomes.

The announcement of these awards brings the total number of UGPN RCF funded-projects to 87 since the fund’s inception in 2011/12.

“The RCF underpins the UGPN’s commitment to addressing the Sustainable Development Goals, supporting our research community to forge new relationships and develop innovative research projects with international partners.”  Professor Bailian Li, Special Advisor to the Provost for Global Partnerships at North Carolina State University and current Chair of the UGPN.
