Professor Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior graduated as a medical doctor from Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (USP), where he was a resident in neurosurgery and earned his master’s degree and PhD. He did his internship at the Foch Hospital in Paris and was a postdoctoral researcher at The Arthur and Sonia Labatt Brain Turmor Research Centre, in Toronto.
Since 1996, he has been a full professor at Ribeirão Preto Medical School, where he was the Dean from 2013 to 2016, and was also coordinator of the Graduate Programme in Surgical Clinic and President of the Graduate Committee.
His fields of research are: Hard to Control Epilepsy Surgery; and, Tumors of the Nervous System Surgery.
Professor Carlotti held the position of Provost of Graduate Studies at the University of São Paulo from 2018 to 2021. He is currently the University’s Rector in the term that begins in 2022.
