Professor Dr Fernando Dias Menezes de Almeida is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo (USP), where he also obtained his Bachelor’s degree (1993), Ph.D. (1999), and Habilitation (Livre-Docência) (2011).

He served as Deputy Secretary for Science, Technology, and Economic Development of the State of São Paulo from 2003 to 2006. Subsequently, he was an Advisor to the Presidency of the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) from 2007 to 2016. Between 2017 and May 2026, he held the position of Administrative Director at FAPESP.

His academic and institutional trajectory is marked by contributions to teaching, research, and management in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.

He currently holds the position of Associate Director for International Cooperation at the USP International Office (AUCANI).
