The annual University Global Partnership Network (UGPN) Conference brings together delegates from UGPN member institutions to promote innovative research collaboration and knowledge transfer. It is a venue to discuss past accomplishments and current research and to explore research possibilities and graduate student and academic exchange programs. It also provides a forum to review the strategic direction and programmatic initiatives for the UGPN.
UOW will host the annual conference in 2020: March 30 – April 1.
Delegations from the University of Surrey (United Kingdom), the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and North Carolina State University (USA) will be in attendance. The 3 day Conference will involve plenary sessions, themed workshops and tours of key UOW facilities.

Major Workshop Themes:
The three workshop themes for this year’s Conference were chosen to address the key goal of the UGPN, to target global issues, and are aligned with specific UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Workshop 1: Sustainable Planet
SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
SDG 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
Workshop 2: Future Industries
SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation
SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable reliable and sustainable and modern energy for all
Workshop 3: Health and Wellbeing
SDG 3: Ensure healthy living and promote well-being for all, at all ages
SDG11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
