The University of Wollongong joins the UGPN

Leading Australian higher education institution, the University of Wollongong, has joined the University of Surrey, North Carolina State University and The University of São Paulo as the fourth partner in the University Global Partnership Network (UGPN).

Professor Vince Emery, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International Relations) at the University of Surrey and current Chair of the UGPN executive group said “The UGPN is now entering its fifth year and has reached a maturity whereby expansion is warranted.  The University of Wollongong is an excellent strategic fit with existing partners and I believe will allow the UGPN to deliver its mission to develop sustainable world-class research, education and knowledge transfer in order to benefit global society”.

Professor Paul Wellings CBE, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wollongong commented: “We are delighted to join UGPN and to be part of an international consortium of leading research universities focussed on turning ideas into action.The members have great reputations in creating research outputs that have a major impact on social, economic and community needs. Collectively, we expect to work on globally significant research and educational priorities”.
